Classical Music on the Street

Report from the final concert – click here

Like every three years – triennially – works of sculpture and classical music are presented in public – outdoors.

What usually awaits connoisseurs in evening attire in art museums and concert halls is now made available to an audience without any preconceptions that while walking around is perhaps looking for traces – and finding them.

Let's hope that the enthusiasm at the event "Classical Music on the Street" from May 16 to 24, 2009 that results from the passion and joy of these young artist from music schools and conservatories of many countries is contagious. They appear as soloists and in groups with string and wind instruments and, for the first time, piano – to present our "classical", our very own Western music with great ability and devotion, in the streets, squares, and parks and in front of sculptures.

At the final concert at the end of the week at the protestant church of Bad Ragaz, the most talented performers are given awards, blazing a trail for their future.

I am pleased to participate as one of the judges for the church concert competition in Bad Ragaz and wish these committed young musicians a lot of fun, much success and new inspiration for their future.
